Tower Hamlets Council will deliver prepared meals from Monday 3 August to Friday 28 August  across the borough. Families will also be able to collect activity packs full of ideas, advice and inspiration to keep you active and eating well this Summer.

From Monday 27 July 2020, 11-19 year olds across all Tower Hamlets educational settings will be able to access advice and support from their school nurse team, simply by using the new confidential ChatHealth text messaging service.  

ChatHealth allows young people to simply and confidentially ask for help about a range of issues including emotional support, sexual health services or bullying to name a few. They can also make an appointment with a school nurse if they prefer.   

Messages sent to the dedicated number [07507 332 942] are delivered to a secure website and responded to by a member of the school nurse team. Out of hours, anyone who texts the service receives a message explaining where to get help if their question is urgent, and when they can expect a response. Texts are usually replied to within one working day.

THCVS is offering to our member organisations free half hour funding searches to help you identify suitable funders to apply to for grant funding.

Groups providing services and support to Tower Hamlets residents can book a half hour slot with a THCVS staff member on Tuesday’s between 10.30am and 12pm, or on Thursdays between 2pm and 3.30pm by emailing info@thcvs.org.uk

Grants of up to £5,000

The Tower Hamlets Council Small Grants Fund is designed to support voluntary and community sector activity across Tower Hamlets that will make a positive difference to the lives of local residents.

The fund will support your work with the community under the following seven themes: Innovation, Prevention, Neighbourhood Action, Community Cohesion, Partnership, 
Access and Participation, Loneliness

Grant award of £500
Deadline: ongoing

A further tranche of funding has been released by Tesco for groups and organisations to continue the work they are doing in their community. Typically, the fund will support organisations that have experienced: increased demand and disrupted services.

Grants of £50.000 alongside a Development Partner to support you.

Next Monday 3 August Lloyds bank will launch a 7.4 million Covid fund to charities to recover beyond the immediate crisis. The Fund will offer around 140 charities a two-year unrestricted grant alongside a Development Partner to help charities navigate a tumultuous future.

Grants of up to £100,000

Covid-19 Community-Led Organisations Recovery Scheme offers grants to community organisations who are facing financial difficulties caused by Covid-19. The scheme is aimed at organisations delivering services in their local community to support people who are at high risk from Covid-19, with an emphasis on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME)-led or BAME-supporting businesses. 

Grants of £50,000 up to a maximum of £3 million
Deadline: 21 August and 4th September

The fund offers financial support for cultural organisations that were financially stable before Covid-19, but are now at imminent risk of failure. 
This fund forms part of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS) wider Culture Recovery Fund of £1.57 billion, set up to protect the UK’s culture and heritage sectors from the economic impacts of Covid-19 

Grants of between £5,000 to £15,000 
Deadline: 18 September

Independent Age’s Grant Fund is awarding to help smaller organisations across the UK working with older people hardest hit by the virus. Applicants should request enough funds to see them through the next six months of delivery.

Grants of up to £10.000 
Deadline: ongoing 

During the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic the Foundation will focus on making one-year grants only to cover core costs or essential equipment, to enable ongoing service provision, homeworking, or delivery of online digital services to charities that can show financial stability.

Grants of up to £1.000 
Deadline: ongoing 

Persimmon Community Champions have created the fund with donations from 31 businesses and their PLC head office to fund organisations that support the over-70 community. 

Grants between £5.000 and £20.000 

Grants to support BAME-led infrastructure organisations. The grants are to support BAME-led charities and groups to apply for National Emergencies Trust funds through their local community foundations. The funding will support work to increase awareness, mentor or support groups though the local community foundation application process, and support with monitoring and reporting.

Grants of up to £40,000 for one year
Deadline for applications for this funding round is midday 11August 2020.

The programme includes a funding stream for charities to support legal action that seeks to protect vulnerable individuals and communities from the impact of Covid-19. Grants are available for organisations with relevant and demonstrable legal expertise in the areas that they work in. 

Grants of between £500 and £15,000
Deadline: Small grants on 31 August and Large grants 31 October 

Most of the support provided by the Masonic Charitable Foundation takes the form of financial grants to individuals and families to assist with daily living costs. They can also award grants to provide specific items or services. A range of health and care needs, including medical and dental treatments, counselling and mobility aids or home adaptations are supported, with funding also available for respite, residential, nursing and dementia care.
