London on track to be world’s first city to stop HIV infections

London is already the world-leading city for HIV diagnosis and treatment, with 95 per cent of people with HIV diagnosed, 98 per cent of whom are on treatment and 97 per cent of those with the HIV virus suppressed.

Funding boost to help local businesses go green

Tower Hamlets Council has been awarded £350,000 from the Mayor of London’s Local Enterprise Panel to help businesses tackle air pollution in the borough.The funding will enable the council to help small businesses reduce harmful emissions that contribute to poor air quality in Tower Hamlets.

Zero Suicide LDN

Thrive LDN's is leading the  "ZeroSuicide campaign" to get 100,000 Londoners to take the Free online suicide prenvention training.

The campaign was launched by Mayor of London and partners including the NHS in London, London Councils, London's Police forces, Transport for London and other emergency services, aims to get more than 1000,000 Londoners to complete the FREE online suicide prevention training.

Tower Hamlets Council Small Grants Fund
Theme: Street Parties 2020
Up to £250
Deadlines: Monday 9th March 2020, 12 noon
A proportion of the Small Grants Fund budget has been ringfenced to support applications for local street parties taking place in May and June 2020.

Themes 1 to 5: Innovation, Prevention, Neighbourhood Action, Community Cohesion and Partnership
Up to £5,000
Deadlines: Monday 9th March, 12 noon / Monday 22nd June, 12 noon / Monday 28th September, 12 noon

The Tower Hamlets Council Small Grants Fund is designed to support voluntary and community sector activity across Tower Hamlets that will make a positive difference to the lives of local residents. Small grants of between £200 and £5,000 are available for projects running for up to 12-months. Larger grants of £20,000 are available through the the community cohesion theme.

The Access and Participation theme has been established in order to support voluntary and community sector activity across Tower Hamlets to provide support, referral and informal advocacy services. The fund will target organisations run for and led by BAME communities.

Up to £5,000
Deadline: Monday 9th March 2020, 12 noon

This theme has been established to support and encourage local actions that help people to connect with each other, enjoy each other’s company and enhance their quality of life. The taskforce is particularly interested in small local actions that make a difference, even if it’s just in one street

Right to Thrive grants scheme
Up to £10,000
Deadline: Monday 2nd March

#ThriveLDN scheme aims to make additional support available to communities and groups who are particularly vulnerable to experiencing poor mental health. The grants scheme was launched by Thrive LDN, London’s citywide movement to ensure all Londoners have an equal opportunity to good mental health.

City Bridge - Small Grants

Deadline: Ongoing

Grants Avaiable for up to 3 years for:
-Greening and growing projects which bring communities together and improve the local environment.
-A project which enables disabled people and/or older people who are disadvantaged to actively participate in the arts, sports and health and well-being opportunities.

London Marathon Charitable Trust offers grants for community projects in London and/or Surrey which aim to help improve existing amenities or to build new facilities that will enable organisations to encourage and support all members of the local community to become and remain physically active.

Tower Hamlets VCS Strategy 2020-2023 - Findings and Feedback

From last November a series of workshops have been led by Gemma Cossins from LBTH involving voluntary and community groups to gather feedback for the new VCS Strategy 2020-2023.

LBTH - Brexit Impact Survey

London Borough of Tower Hamlets is running this survey to map the EU investment in the borough.

This will provide a clearer picture of what delivery may be affected and which areas or resident groups will be most affected.


LBTH shall use this information to explore alternative funding streams and lobby government for replacement funding under the proposed UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

This survey is aimed at organisation who hold funding contracts with the EU, the data will be used anonymously to analyse the impact of EU funding across the borough.

safeTALK: Suicide Prevention awareness training

safeTALK is a half-day training in suicide alertness. It helps participants recognize a person with thoughts of suicide and connect them with resources who can help them in choosing to live.

Non Violent Resistance is an effective way to equip parents to communicate and engage with their children and teenagers to assert themselves as a 'strong wise adult' without aggression to restore balance in the family.

· Opportunities to attend a 30-minute workshop on approaches such as crowdfunding.
· Chances to discuss funding approaches.
