In response to the pandemic the government announced new national restrictions on September 22nd to help contain the spread of Covid-19. As part of the new measures the government have opened new programmes to support employers to get through the economic challenges of the pandemic.
Kickstart Scheme The scheme aims to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. If you are an employer looking to create job placements for young people, check if you can apply for funding as part of the Kickstart Scheme. Job Support Scheme - Replacing furlough Scheme The Job Support Scheme is designed to protect viable jobs in businesses who are facing lower demand over the winter months due to Covid-19, to help keep their employees attached to the workforce. The scheme will open on 1 November 2020 and run for 6 months. Coronavirus Local Restrictions Support Grant The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) supports businesses that have been required to close due to temporary COVID-19 local lockdown restrictions imposed by the government. It is for businesses that pay business rates on their premises. Local councils may at their discretion also provide funding for businesses that don’t pay business rates. |
